These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Eventide mobile application ("App") operated by Eventide ("we," "our," or "us"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Use of the App

Eventide is a personal journaling and mood tracking application. You must be at least 16 years old to use the App. The App includes an age verification gate that requires confirmation of this requirement before account creation. By using the App, you confirm that you are at least 16 years of age.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

2. Your Content

You own your content. All journal entries, mood data, and personal reflections you create in Eventide belong to you. We do not claim ownership of your content.

You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Eventide service to you. This license ends when you delete your content or account.

3. Not a Medical Service

Eventide is a personal wellness tool, not a medical device. It does not provide therapy, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The reflections generated by the App are for self-awareness and personal growth purposes only and do not constitute professional mental health care.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Eventide offers a free tier and premium subscription plans. Subscriptions are billed through Google Play and are subject to Google Play's terms.

Free trial periods, if offered, convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends
Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Google Play account settings
Refunds are handled according to Google Play's refund policy

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the App for any illegal purpose
Attempt to access other users' data
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
Use automated systems to access the App
Interfere with the App's security or infrastructure

6. Intellectual Property

The Eventide name, logo, design, and code are our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App without our written permission.

7. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

We are not liable for any decisions or actions you take based on the App's reflections or insights.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Eventide shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data or emotional distress.

9. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the App's Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon deletion, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the App. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
